Yankees 54 pitcher:

Aroldis Chapman, currently plays for the New York Yankees and is a cuban born pitcher who wears the Yankees’ number 54 jersey. Before being contracted to the New York Yankees’ Chapman played MLB for the Cincinnati Reds and the Chicago Cubs. Chapman’s nicknames are the cuban flame thrower and the cuban missile, due to the speed at which he pitches. Currently Chapman is contracted to the New York Yankees’ for $15 million US dollars.

The 1980s Yankees:

During the 1980s the New York Yankees won more games, than any other MLB team. However, unfortunately for the Yankees’, they did not manage to win a single World Series title during the 80s. For this reason many Yankees’ fans see the 1980s as the worst decade in the Yankees’ history. However, the Yankees did sign a few stars during the 80s one key example of which is Don Mattingly.

Don Mattingly made his professional debut for the New York Yankees in 1985 and went on to play for the Yankees’ till his retirement in 1995. During his stint playing for the New York Yankees, Mattingly was selected as an MLB All Star player six times. From 1982 to 1985.

New York Yankees roster 2018:

Some of the players who made the New York Yankees 2018 roster include Jacoby Ellsbury, Tim Locastro, David Robertson, Aaron Hicks, Austin Romine, Giancarlo Stanton, Gary Sanchez, Johnathan Loaisiga, David Hale and Justus Sheffield.

New York Yankees roster 2019:

The New York Yankees roster saw a return of most of the Yankees 2018 players. Examples of players who stayed on and played for the New York Yankees for the 2019 season include Jacob Ellsbury, Gary Sanchez, Aaron Hicks, Austin Romine and Tim Locastro. However, the Yankees did pick up a few new players such as Cameron Maybin, who played as an out fielder for the Yankees during the 2019 MLB season.

New York Yankees roster 2020:

The 2020 Yankees roster features many familiar names such as Gary Sanchez, Aaron Hicks, Giancarlo Stanton and Loaisiga. However, the fact that the Yankees’ maintains their star players for so many years is a testament to the dominance of the New York Yankees. Which is arguably the best MLB team in history. Especially as the New York yankees has won more games than another other MLB team in history.

However the Yankees have signed a few new players to their high profile squad. Some examples of which include Gerrit Cole, Mike Ford, Gio Urshela, Mike Tauchman and DJ LeMahieu. All of whom are looking to prove themselves and to secure lucrative long term deals with the New York Yankees. As players who fail to prove their worth to the Yankees during their debut year are usually traded to other MLB teams.
