Before going on to play both baseball and basketball at Santa Clara University. During his time at Santa Clara University Winn was room mates with Steve Nash, a talented basketball player who went on to play in the NBA.

Randy Winn married his long time partner and college girlfriend Blessings Robertson Winn in 2002. Blessings has a successful career as a fitness influencer and runs her own fitness blog. Which provides health and fitness tips as well as step by step workout videos. Blessings is also a qualified Zumba teacher and is a qualified dance teacher. Currently she teaches jazz, ballet, modern dance, hip hop and latin dance.
Winn was drafted into the MLB by the Florida Marlins:
Winn was selected to join the Florida Marlins in 1995 during the 3rd round of the 1995 MLB draft.
In 1997 Winn was transferred to the Tampa Bay Devil Rays:
After spending two years under contract with the Florida Marlins, Winn was transferred to the Tampa Bay Devil Rays as part of the 1997 MLB expansion draft. However he did not make his debut for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays until the following year when Winn played as a pinch runner for his team.
One of Winn’s career highlights playing for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays was managing to hit a inside the park grand slam against the New York Yankees, on the 3rd of October, 1999.
Winn transferred from the Tampa Bay Devil Rays to the Seattle Mariners:
Winn played for the Seattle Mariners from 2003 to 2005. Just five days after arriving at the Seattle Mariners, Winn married his girlfriend Blessings Robertson.
In 2005 Winn was traded to the San Fransisco Giants:
After being traded to the San Fransisco Giants from the Seattle Mariners, Winn spent five years playing for the San Fransisco Giants.
Winn was selected to join the New York Yankees:
Winn spent a brief stint under contract with the New York Yankees. While he was contracted to spend a year with the New York Yankees, Winn only spent three months with the Yankees, before he was prematurely released from his contract.
Winn spent his last years playing MLB baseball with the Baltimore Orioles:
After being released from the Yankees’ roster, Winn signed a contract with the Baltimore Orioles on the 3rd of February, 2011. However, just a couple of days later Winn asked to be released from his contract and decided to announce his retirement from MLB.
He was not inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame:
While he did receive a nomination, Winn did not receive any votes to support his possible induction.
While Winn did not make it into the Baseball Hall of Fame, he enjoyed a successful lengthy career in the MLB and his still happily married to his college sweetheart.
