April 10th @ The Royals

In the YES post-game for this one, Bob Lorenz talked about "the resurgence of the Yankees offense."

Really?

The Yankees first run came on Melky Cabrera's homer - which looked like it was helped a tad by the wind. Their second run came on a DP grounder from Jose Molina with runners on the corners. Their fourth run came on a fielder's choice. And, their fifth and sixth runs came via homers off Hideo Nomo - who has just as much a right to be pitching in the majors now as Leif Garrett had singing "I Was Made For Dancin'" in 1978.

In any event, gutty effort from Pettitte this evening. Nice to win this one. Now, the funs starts tomorrow...

I think everything written was an excuse to bust out this terrible joke.

But seriously, I'm just happy that Andy looked comfortable. I really thought he could have gotten Buck for the last out in the seventh.

Now the Yankees head off to the madness of Fenway. It seems way too early for this. But hopefully Wang will start it off with a nice showing and set the tone for the series with his performance. I guess I shouldn't be looking ahead (though I was from days ago), but the truly intriguing game will be Hughes on Sunday night on ESPN.

Good points. I'm glad we scored the 6, but yeah...I don't hold Nomo home-runs as sufficient proof of offensive resurgence.

Maybe the hitters got some confidence back?
