Today's Billy-Crystal-Ball Special
There's no joy in Crystalville today. The Mighty Billy struck out.
And, Jeff Karstens didn't exactly have the best of days today, either.
However, Mike Mussina posted some good numbers in today's game. Granted, he was facing the shell of one of the worst teams in the National League. And, I think that's how it's going to roll for Moose this year. Put him up against the Red Sox or Tigers and he will get hit. But, against weaker teams he'll be able to spin it enough to get you a decent start - like today.

Good numbers? He threw five perfect innings -- no hits, no walks. Even if he was facing an A-ball team, you can't ask for anything more.
Moose has shown a great curveball this spring. It's really not about velocity with him anymore -- it's about the curve and change.
Hopefully today's outing puts an end to the idea of Karstens making the team.

By the way, Steve, the TypeKey thing seems to be browser-related: Firefox works; IE does not.

I got to watch the game yesterday. It was great seeing Billy Crystal at bat. His memories of going to Yankee games as a kid and idolizing the Mick are always touching to hear. What a thrill it must've been for him. And, even on the eve of his 60th birthday, he got the bat on the ball and smacked it just foul. If it was fair, and he had enough gas in the tank, he might have had a double!

baileywalk - thanks,
last time that happened, it fixed itself - I hope it does again, quick, as I still cannot comment from home
