Betemit & Ensberg
No, it's not the law firm representing Brian McNamee. It's the answer that some have offered up to YankeeBlography, when asked the question "Who should play 1B?"
Do you agree?

I gotta go with Jason Giambi as the primary first baseman until he proves he can't handle it. First base is just not that important of a defensive position, but it is a very important offensive position. To keep Giambi in the lineup and have someone else at 1B means that Melky is out of the lineup. CF is one of those very important defensive positions, and Melky is miles ahead of Damon right now in that area.
Betemit is a fine super-utility man, one of the best the Yankees have had. Morgan Ensberg and Shelley Duncan will battle for a bench spot.

The Yanks had a cheap reliable homegrown cheap fan favorite:Andy Phillips. That was fine for first base, but now he's gone.Doug Mankievitch only made a million....why not pay someone who is a defensive star at that position instead of a revolving door at first base. One of the inmates is still running the asylum...........
