Miguel Tejada
There are reports out there that suggest Miguel Tejada is available.
A word to the Yankees: Avoid!
Check out the recent stats for Tejada and the parks where he played his home games:
YEAR TEAM AGE AB HR% Park Factor 1999 A's 23 593 3.54 92 2000 A's 24 607 4.94 91 2001 A's 25 622 4.98 92 2002 A's 26 662 5.14 109 2003 A's 27 636 4.25 87 2004 O's 28 653 5.21 103 2005 O's 29 654 3.98 88 2006 O's 30 648 3.70 98 2007 O's 31 514 3.50 111
The power that was there for him from 2000 to 2004 went away starting in 2005...and it keeps getting further away. Something must have happened in 2005, huh?
Please, this is the last season where the Yankees have to deal with an expensive deflated slugger on their roster (Giambi). Let's not add another one this year to take his place going forward.

You're right about this one.
Based on what's out there and what's being asked, I'm starting to think that the Yankees should sit back and let Betemit be the starting 3B for now. If something falls in their lap (like Rolen), that's fine, but they shouldn't rush to trade away young pitchers.

Darn, do you have to make it sound like this is the first time that it's happened!

Amen. The patient approach seems best right now. No sense signing or trading for someone that doesn't help or, worse, hurts us.

Of course, I meant in contrast to your calls on Cabrera and Lowell ;)

Since when have teams decided to trade marquee players to division rivals? I doubt this will happen anyway.

Listen,I'm of the old skool/Billy Beane trading players outside of the divison and into another league BUT everyone in that division trades with one another except for The Yanks and the Bosox .The Yanks traded Wright for Britton last year with the Os,so who's to say.Look,Tejada's their marquee guy but he's really not happy there so if you can get him for a bag of balls(and Rolen for that matter) it's only money to a certain degree(with a token talent thrown in).Cabrera would be a full blown trade with the Yankees forfeiting talent, great defense and having a third basemen who will be DH in a year when there are at least three other candidates for that job on the Yanks already! But my solution is to go for Lowell, yes he is not the most sabermetrically inclined player in the world for the Stadium or the Yankees, but he plays his heart out and will only cost money! Not talent!

Actually,Britton is!C'mon you got my point. It was that the Os and the Yanks can make a trade with each other.Seriously,Tejada is not happy with the direction of the club and remember that the inmates run the asylum in Baltimore .Until,I see MacPhail and co get at least a third place berth then maybe we'll know things have changed. He's another ball player who got paid the big money like Arod who found out what it's like to be at the bottom or maybe near the bottom. If the Yankees get him cheap as a salary dump, fine.

Someone posted on RLYW that a writer said the Orioles made sense for A-Freud. I have been thinking that for some time now as well.
The team is moribund, a great park that used to sell out is nearly empty most nights.
Oh, and one more thing that would commend it to Alex, it is a dream to hit in, power numbers would be amazing. Remember that A-Freud (and Griffey, Jr.) both wanted out of Seattle when they moved to the new ballpark, owing to the large dimensions, and they missed the cozy Kingdome. It is all about Alex and records, what better park, excepting Philly.
