A Tad Over Two & A Half Years Later

Today is the 937th day that I've been blogging at WasWatching.com - and, I've updated this site on just about every one of those 937 days.

Over the last six months or so, WasWatching.com has averaged about 6,000 unique visitors per day - so, that tells me that people are interested in what's being posted here. That's exciting - and appreciated.

As always, thanks for your interest in WasWatching.com - - having people read what I write is the icing on the cake for me (where the cake is writing what I want to write). If you're really into stats, check these out:

WasWatching.com, since April 20, 2005:
Total Posts: 3868 | Total Comments: 24335 | Total Authors: 1

Yes, that's one blog, one author, and an average of 4 posts per day - over a 937 day span.

To be candid, after all this time - just about the last three full seasons of Yankees baseball - I'm starting to get, well, for lack of a better term, a little burned out. So, today, I decided that I'm going to cut back, some, on my blogging.

WasWatching.com is not going away. And, it won't be a situation where I may go several days without updating the site. More so, it will probably mean that there will be some days in the off-season where I elect not to write - and, other days where it may be one or two items added only (as opposed to closer to four).

I thought it best to share this in advance - and not leave people wondering as to what's going on here...etc.

I still enjoy having this blog and sharing things with my fellow Yankees and baseball fans. It's been a pleasure do to this for the last 937 days - and I'm looking forward to continuing WasWatching.com going forward.

This is more a matter of taking some time over the next three months or so to recharge my batteries. Of course, if there's breaking and/or big news, I'll try to be right on it. But, outside of that, and maybe one or two posts per day, with some off-days mixed it, don't expect to see the frequency that you normally see here.

Come Spring Training 2008, I will re-examine where I am - and the blog - and see if I'll stay with this new approach or revert back to past practice.

Steve, your blog is one of the best I've ever read. Heck, I check it every time I open my web browser. Whatever you decide to do is cool with me.

You deserve the break man. This blog has been one of the best Yankee blogs around, and that is a reflection of the work you've put into it. I'll look forward to whenever you update. Enjoy the company of your family, and embrace relaxation.

Hey, Steve, enjoy the vacation. You're one of the first stops every time I log in to the 'net, and I'm always interested in what you have to say! I hope you keep going!

Any thought about adding another author or two?

Boy Steve, you really must read your own blog a ton. (wink wink)

I don't know how you've been able to post 4 times a day given you have a family and a job but I sure am glad you have! Yours is the best blog I read ea day. While I'm sorry you won't be posting as frequently, I'm glad you're sticking w/ it.

i have to say the the multiple posts per day is the main reason i read ww. it is currently #2 on my igoogle start page, behind CNN.

needless to say, this is your pool, we're all just swimming in it. but have you thought about other ways to keep the posts up without burning yourself out? guest posters? a yankee stat-of-the-day autoscript?

whatever happens, thanks for everything.

I just began blogging recently, yours was surely one of the better sites I had visited before hand, have really enjoyed it. Was glad to see that you checked mine out.
Catch a breather, and sharpen the saw, you're amidst quite a run.
Thanks for recognizing my site on yours. I myself am still figuring out the tech part, meta tags, referrrals etc...

Thanks for all the kind words and thoughts everyone!

I've thought about it Chuck. Just not sure that two voices would be the right fit.

Don't worry all - like I said, I'll be posting...just not every 4 hours, or thereabouts, as it seems that I sometimes do....

My buddy Steve, take the break, recharge the batteries, you deserve it. After all, if the Yanks are on a beach someplace getting some R&R, shouldn't you be as well?

You're the best Yankee blog in this Yankee Universe. Keep doing what you do and we'll all keep reading.
