Schilling Takes A Shot At Yankees

From ESPN.com -

Schilling said it did not bother him that Rodriguez's announcement came during Boston's coronation. But he seemed to relish the opportunity to take a shot at the Red Sox rivals' disappointing season.

"It wasn't unexpected," Schilling said. "Between them and the Yankees making sure we were updated every 15 minutes about when they were actually going to name their manager, I didn't give a crap. Bottom line was they're playing golf and making organizational decisions and we're still playing games."

To the victor belong the spoils, I suppose. Stay classy Red Light.

Hey, golf is fun! Have a few bloody's on the course. Make a few putts. Much less stressful than trying to figure out how to get the Rockies to swing at everything you throw up there.

Nothing he said wasn't the truth, and sometimes the truth hurts.

(your team has kyle farnsworth on it, come on)

Classier than Curt Schilling? A Red Sox fan that hangs out in the Yankee message board community. Gotta love guys like that.

Um, the Yankees weren't the ones interrupting the World Series, and the Yankees weren't the ones issuing statements on their managerial decision - blame the media if you're sick of hearing Yankees news.

The real 'truth' is that the Yankees will *always* be as big of (or bigger) a story than whatever the Red Sox are doing. 2004 being the obvious exception, and even then Sox players couldn't refrain from referencing their rivals.

Take heart in this, Yankee fans.

Should the red sox not re-sign Schilling, it will likely be because of his putrid numbers this year against the Yankees.

In five starts against them, he went 0-3, with a 5.51 ERA (including a .311 batting average against and a whopping 10 HR allowed!).

Hey Curt, Ketchup goes on hot dogs, not socks!

Know what, Shrill Schill can talk all the smack in the world, his team won!The Sox ,even in victory can't escape the Yankees. It is a funny irony that the Yankees in a tailspin get more press than the Beantown Bloody Sox in triumph. Now Yankees fans are starting to see what it's like when the shoe is on the other foot. How does it feel to see the longtime losers, the new standard bearers? No fear Girardi is a step in the right direction, while Schill will be back in Philly getting his fastballs blasted out in Citizen's Bank.

I can understand him and the Sox being upset about the A-Rod deal. But the manager search? Come on.

You would think a professional ballplayer would be able to rise above petty "fan" swipes, but not Curt. Unreal.
