Things To Do If The Yankees Make The World Series

From Corey Fyke, who runs RedSoxNation.net -

One Win Doesn’t Make A Champion
Newsflash, Purveyors Of Arrogance: Lead Still At 4½

So, the Yankees make a nice comeback, and all those Yankees fans who were pining for football season in May are back with their loud mouths and arrogant insults?

Gotta love that. Just proving the stereotype.

Did the Sox lose a gut-wrenching game Friday night to the Yankees? Sure.

Am I going to go jump off the top deck of the Explorer of the Seas when it pulls into State Pier this morning? No way.

Even if the Evil Empire manages to win the next two games, the Sox are still in the driver’s seat. The pressure is on the Yankees to win.

So bring it on. The results will sort themselves out on the field. I’d still much rather be up 4½ than down 4½. Both teams will still be in the playoffs, and the Red Sox will still be in the ALCS against the Angels after Anaheim dispatches the Yankees in 4 games. Mark it down.

Corey Fyke can be contacted via this link.

Should the Yankees make the World Series this season, you might want to drop him a line or leave him a voicemail.

So bring it on.

The last one I can recall saying that was George Bush about 4 yr's ago.

Must be careful not to be so cocky.

I think the reason most of us Yankees' fans are giddy is not because we think we are going to win the division but the fact that we have played very well against the Red Sox since we've had a healthy roster and we have a great deal of confidence we can beat them in the playoffs no matter what situation. I think that's all there is to it, sounds like this guy is just trying to make excuses and is really just worried or in denial, haha!

"Should the Yankees make the World Series this season, you might want to drop him a line or leave him a voicemail."

Or not.

The guy believes in his team, so what? Lots of us believe in the Yankees but we also know in our hearts that catching the Sox at this point or even getting past Los Anahaim in the first round won't be easy.

I'd love, just for once, for Red Sox fans and Yankees fans to LEAVE ONE ANOTHER THE HELL ALONE.

How about we demonstrate our class and show them how it's done, by rooting FOR the Yankees and not rooting AGAINST another team and its fans. Our team is the greatest team in baseball history representing the greatest city in the world. Boston and its fans should be irrelevant to us. Who cares about their predictions? Why should we take the bait?

For once, I'd like Yankees fans to collectively SHOW that they're better than Red Sox fans, instead of attempting to shout it right down at their level.

I can't WAIT until this so-called rivalry is over, and sometimes I think that even if it takes five years of the Yankees being in the basement it would be worth it to me. It really sucks all the joy out of baseball for me.

Send him a voicemail? Are you serious? The guy writes something on his own site, while disagreeable to you I'm sure, and you want people to call him?

Bizarre. I agree with carla. There are ridiculous fans on both sides. I thought you were above that steve.

Anyone who posts their phone number on the internet probably isn't too concerned about getting voicemail messages. At least, it seems that way to me.

Steve, you're messing around with Karma. Leave Karma alone. Karma shouldn't be bothered this time of year. And before you say anything, Karma cares not that you used the word "If".

Sometimes you have to let things go, be the better man, and not play into the stereotype.

Sorry guys, I guess it's just the "New Yorker" in me that wants to push back when someone says "So bring it on."

But, I'm willing to agree to disagree on this and not advance my point any further.
