Torre: Melky Stays In Center

From the Daily News -

[Melky] Cabrera has played well enough for Joe Torre to tab him as the everyday center fielder even after Jason Giambi crowds the lineup when he returns from the disabled list this week. The 22-year-old has hit safely in 12 straight games, one shy of his career mark that he set earlier this month, batting .412 (21-for-51) with 11 extra-base hits during the streak. "I'm not saying we won't give him a day off now and then," Torre said, "but it would really be tough to replace what he does for us."

Will Joe stay true to his word? We'll soon see.

No need to comment, the numbers speak for themselves.
