News That May Cost Jeter A Few More Sleepovers

Have you heard the Derek Jeter rumor that's running all over the Internet these days?

I can't even imagine the chants that D.J. is going to hear on the next trip to Fenway. It won't matter if the rumor is true, or not, or if touching the subject is crossing the line. And, to be fair, if such a rumor was all-over-town now involving Curt Schilling, he would hear about it on trips into the Bronx. It's what happens with stuff like this and key foes in hostile-rival-parks.

Jeter's a big boy. I'm sure that none of this will bother him. That's a good thing - for Yankees fans.

I guess I'm not on the Internet as much as I thought I was. I didn't hear this moronic rumor.

My question is: why even post something on this? It's a classic baseless celebrity rumor. Even if it's true, it has nothing to do with baseball.

There are plenty of sites where people post anonymous, unfounded rumors about sports stars. Why turn a site devoted to serious discussion into one?

And by the way... since it hasn't been mentioned on here yet... Clemens got suspended five games for throwing at Rios.

~~~why even post something on this?~~~
It could turn out to be a big news item. If not, it's something to ignore. In any event, it's not about A-Rod, right?
Hey, I'm not one of the people who kill you on your A-Rod posts. I just don't see how this rumor is worthy of space on your blog. It seems like the type of cheap tabloid story we decry on here.
