Watch Out Joe Weider - Here Comes The Stein Of Steel

From the UPI -

The New York Yankees have signed a 10-year deal with the 24 Hour Fitness chain to create three new health clubs linked to the baseball team.

As part of the new deal, which the New York Post said will likely be officially announced this week, the three new fitness clubs in the city will offer fans of the Yankees a chance to work out while surrounded by memorabilia of their favorite team.

Locations for the New York clubs are still being scouted and the two sides are still discussing possibly offering TV highlights of Yankee games, the report said.

Yankees official Michael Tusiani said the business deal represents a first step in what will likely become a successful effort for both sides.

"We expect the Yankees and 24 Hour Fitness to become synonymous -- this season and in the future -- as we relocate into the new Yankee Stadium," the corporate sales official said. The Post said that while the health club chain has previously worked with sports stars like tennis great Andre Agassi, its partnership with the Yankees is the first such deal with a professional team.

My first question: Will Bobby Alejo be allowed into the club?

It's a stupid idea to me. What Mets, Sox, or non-Yankees fan would want to workout in a place full of Yankees stuff? They're cutting their pool of potential clients with a theme like this one.

I wonder how much the Yankees are getting for it? Next there'll be Yankee themed restaurants, amusement parks, doggie daycare centers, the possibilities are endless!

Yuck.
