Prospecting The Rivalry
The Yankees and Red Sox each have 5 of the "Top 100 Prospects" in the game today, according to Baseball America.
But, one of those listed for the Sox is Daisuke Matsuzaka. Sorry - I can't call someone with that much experience a "prospect."
Therefore, I'm giving the Yankees a "win" here - especially since the Yankees have 3 in the "Top 60" compared to the two non-Matsuzaka guys in that group for Boston.

Wow, the catching corps are really thin. None of the top 35 are catchers, only one of the top 50, and 5 of the 100. One of those is hurt, one is likely to move to 1st base. Better get Jorge signed, and keep our fingers crossed, and get a plan to seek out some catching help. Are catchers the new "hard throwing lefties"? ..... Harder to find than Britney Spears at a Mensa meeting.

So if Matsuzaka has a great year, does he win ROY -- in accordance with other Japanese ballplayers who play for teams not named "Yankees?"

I will throw a fit if that happens, esp. after Godzilla got hosed.

It's intesting that Dice K was 1st, while Igawa didn't even make the top hundred.
Somebody thinks Dice K is a heck of a lot better than Igawa.
