Bad Day For Carl Pavano
From Yankees.com -
Yankees right-hander Carl Pavano was excused from his scheduled start Friday against the Devil Rays for personal reasons, the team announced.
Pavano, 31, left Legends Field following an unspecified issue that developed after batting practice, Yankees spokesman Jason Zillo said.
The team said that Pavano's absence was not related to any legal issues or proceedings, and said that the hurler may return to the team Saturday. Right-hander Jeff Karstens was selected to start in Pavano's place.
Earlier Friday, The Associated Press reported that Pavano had been named in a lawsuit relating to an August 2006 automobile accident.
No question, this boy is afflicted by the malocchio. He needs an antidote, and fast. If Carl didn't have bad luck, he would have no luck at all.

If it wasn't for disappointments, Pavano wouldn't have any appointments.

Since he's supposedly coming back the next day, I wouldn't worry about it too much; hopefully everything's ok

From the Banter
"Per Joe Torre's post-game press conference, Pavano came to him with the issue forty minutes before game time, but was reluctant to leave, only deciding to do so after Torre and Guidry insisted it was the right thing to do. He should return to the team tomorrow and could even pitch in tomorrow's game (Torre said that was unlikely since it will be a day game, but wouldn't rule it out)."

Too true. What with that $8.5 million a year salary, and the model girlfriend, and the career as a professional baseball player. Sheesh, I can't imagine how he can get out of bed in the morning.
