What's In Your Belly?

Anyone who has seen the current weather forecast for the NY/NJ/CT area knows that it's supposed to be as cold as a witch's dirty pillows this weekend. And, of course, there's that big football game on Sunday. Many people are probably not thinking about baseball now given these conditions.

But, when I hear that Staten Island Chuck and Punxsutawney Phil are saying that spring is on the way, and, when I pass a baseball park on the way to work in the morning, despite the weather and the Super Bowl, I find myself starting to get pumped for baseball.

Truthfully, I started getting butterflies in my stomach at the thought this morning that another baseball season is about to be upon us.

Sure, I know that there's something like 8 weeks until the actual season. But, when you're a baseball addict like me, Spring Training is enough to start you off in terms of that mad craving trigger.

I'm not the only person in the world feeling this today, am I?

No way! The Super Bowl is when my internal clock starts ticking that baseball is on the way. Slowly, newspapers will start making the transition to those cheesy spring training stories and I've already noticed that it's not pitch-black at 6pm when I leave the office. Spring is right around the corner, baby!
