Hey, Randy Johnson....
...you're going to get $71 million (plus interest) over the next six years and be able to work just down the street from your house!
How do you feel about that?
Some guys, huh?

First you guys complain when he's here, now you complain when he's gone.
I'm sure he'll miss the fine NY fans.

While a lot of people are complaining *when* he's gone, most of them aren't complaining *that* he's gone. There's a big difference there.
Fans are getting out the residual complaining about the fact that he was an overpaid, thin-skinned failure in New York. Considering what he was paid (just less than $32M) and what he was brought in to deliver (playoff success), I think that the fans have plenty of justification to complain.

Meh, that first sentence should be:
While a lot of people are complaining when he's gone, most of them aren't complaining *that* he's gone.

Jeez. I'm apparently suffering from a brain cloud today. Never mind.

Eh, one good year, one bad year. And it seems that bad year may be attributed to luck.
Oh well, what's done is done; best of luck in AZ.
Speaking of lefties, this Igawa guy seems to be a real character. Courtesy of BB, with a nod to NYYF

Great post Steve, Peter Abraham has a great picture of Johnson as well, cheesing away. He looks like a guy that just got an 11th-hour pardon from death row.
I wonder if A-Rod is watching...? Not to bring him up again, but there's some speculation that he'll opt out after this season because he can actually get more money. I don't see anyway he can get more than $85 million for 3 years, no matter how crazy the market has been.

And oh, the best part of him going to the Yanks is he actually has a decent haircut now.

Ha, ha, ha. That is so true. Have you ever seen Randy happier? He's so glad to be out of New York it looked like he was going to do a song and dance at his press conference.
He basically said all the right things (didn't complain about the fans, took responsibility, etc., etc.). Fans like to boo, so he'll probably get booed when he comes back to the Bronx, but otherwise his short stay with the Yanks just feels like a odd little quickie marriage that will be nothing but a footnote on their resumes.
