Power & Speed In The A.L.
Just in case you were wondering.....
...How many A.L. teams, in the history of the league, have hit 200+ HR in a season, with at least 130 SB, where they had 100+ SB less CS?
The answer is four:
Indians 1996
Blue Jays 1998
Yankees 2001
Yankees 2006
While this is impressive, it does tell you that you still need to pitch to get a ring. Having great power and great speed in your line-up, alone, is not going to wrap up a championship for you.

==============
Pitching, like everything else, is only part of the equation
2006: Detroit, 3.84
2005: ChiSox/Cleveland, 3.61
2004: Minnesota, 4.03
2003: Oakland, 3.63
2002: Oakland, 3.68
2001: Seattle, 3.54
2000: Boston, 4.23
1999: Boston, 4.00
1998: NY, 3.82
1997: NY, 3.84
1996: Cleveland, 4.35
1995: Cleveland, 3.83
So since 1995, the team that lead the league in ERA made it to the WS 3 times (not counting 2006 for obvious reasons)

Is there significance with 130 SB as a benchmark? It's not exactly a round number.

I used the 2006 Yankees SB total, rounded down, as a baseline.
