R.I.P Elden Auker
When he was a rookie, Auker whiffed Babe Ruth on four pitches. So, there's a Yankees tie-in for this post.
I was sorry to hear of Auker's passing today. He was a very sharp man and had an extremely full life.
If you've never read "Sleeper Cars and Flannel Uniforms: A Lifetime of Memories from Striking Out the Babe to Teeing It Up With the President," I highly recommend it. You'll become an Auker fan after reading it. I know that I did when I read it.

Saw Gary Sheffield's house today... he lives 10 minutes outside the city in NJ in a town called closter.. nice house and apparently he is friendly to people living in the town... i heard that derek jeter's parents also live 10 minutes outside the city.... do you know the town?

Pretty sure that I once went to a coporate X-mas party in that town once.
Lots of rich people live in the general area of that part on NJ - it's close to the GWB too.
Patrick Ewing, Eddie Murphy, guys like that.
