Two Ducks Just Flew Off The Pond
The Brewers are trading Carlos Lee and minor leaguer Nelson Cruz to the Rangers for Francisco Cordero, Kevin Mench and Laynce Nix.
That's two that you can take off the "rumored to the Yankees" list.

Not sure I understand this deal from the Brewers' point of view. Yeah, they get something for a guy they couldn't re-sign -- probably a new closer in Cordero and a nice outfielder in Mench (and a guy not making any money in Nix) -- but they had to give up a promising young outfielder. It doesn't make any sense if this was simply to get something for Lee why they would also give up a valued prospect. I'm not really sure how this improves their team.

I agree bailey, I just don't see what the Brewers are gaining. Unless of course they're going to turn around and spin Cordero and Mench off somewhere else.

To the Yankees, maybe? Doug Melvin's friendly with Cashman from his days working for the Yankees' FO. Question is, what would the Brewers want from us?
