A-Rod: Media "My Worst Enemy"
Via this link:
The Sacramento Bee sat down with Rodriguez the weekend before the All-Star break for a one-on-one session.
I found this one Q&A the most interesting:
Q: Is that who matters most to you - how you're perceived by your teammates, the fans and the media, to a degree, because they portray your image?
A: Obviously, the media doesn't portray (expletive) for me. So, in many ways, they're my worst enemy.
Then, maybe he should stop talking to them?

Oh sure, stop talking to the media - *that* will endear him to fans.
I feel for Alex - in some people's eyes, the guy can't do anything right.

He might not want to talk to them tonight. I love him but I don't want to hear him give the "I played like a dog" speech this evening. Three 3 errors and a miserable AB against a rookie...

In the post game it wan mentioned that A-Rod will be going for an MRI at Dr. Hershon's place tomorrow for his swollen big toe, injured on the at bat following Giambi's HR. All we need is another injured Yankee player. We talk about the outfield, how's this infield, Cairo, Jeter, Green, Phillips?

If any of us took the kind of (expletive) he takes on a daily (expletive'n) basis. We might be a little (motherexpletiving) unhappy with the media.
Steve, I really think you're being too hard on the guy. Tell me what he's done wrong this year other than have a mediocre season by his astronomical standards.
