Jose Veras
Don't look now, but, Jose Veras has been dealing in Triple-A so far this season:
6 games, 8.2 IP, 7 hits, 1 BB, 13 SO and a 1.04 ERA
Then again, Scott Erickson has been pitching well at Columbus too. So, that's probably bad news for Veras.

Scott Erickson is still around? I thought that was a courtesy spring training type signing. The Clippers are in town this weekend, I might actually see Colter Bean in a game.

Scott Erickson's not just still around, he's schoolin' kids in Triple-A:
9.2 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 3 BB, 5 K all in relief
I never thought in a millin years I'd say this about Erickson, but I think the Yanks should call him up and give him a chance. He can't be worse than Tanyon sturtze, can he?

Oh, Erickson could be worse than Tanyon. He most certainly could:
ERA+, past 4 ML seasons
Sturtze: 86, 79, 82, 94
Erickson: 60, 79, 72, 67
Ugh. Tell me again why the Yanks are wasting their time/money with Scott Erickson, even at AAA?

Ooooh Ooooh, Mistah Kottah!
Because they never learn. Or maybe they do learn. If they had a good young prospect and they promoted him, Torre would bench him in favor of proven veteran Erickson anyway. So why bother?
