A Cold Soda Would Be Great About Now
From last December 1st, through the end of last month (February), WasWatching.com has averaged over 1,200 visits by readers per day.
For another view, since last December 1st, through the end of last month, WasWatching.com has averaged over 6,800 hits per day.
This is very exciting news to me. And, of course, thank you - to everyone having an interest in what can be found at this site.
It truly is thrilling to know that so many are enjoying this blog. When I started WasWatching.com, ten and one-half months ago, I never dreamed that I would be looking at numbers like 1,200+ visits and 6,800+ hits per day. That's impressive stuff by itself - but, when you factor in that the last Yankees game played was on October 10, 2005, it really is mind-boggling. It says that people want to, and are willing to, tune into WasWatching.com even when Yankees-baseball is in a downtime.
Now, to the other end of the spectrum. Pretty soon, I'm going to get a bill from my server provider (for WasWatching.com). And, I'm looking for a way to offset the impact of that bill (along with the other costs associated to maintaining a blog like this).
My first thought was to place advertisements on WasWatching.com. (And, if you never noticed, to date, this blog has been 100% Ad-free over its first 10 1/2 months.) But, I sincerely want to avoid doing that - because I know when I read a blog (somewhere else), the last thing that I want to see are annoying ads. So, I'm going to try the "donation" route first.
If everyone who reads this blog on a regular basis donated just $1 to WasWatching.com, prior to Opening Day 2006, it would make maintaining this site during the season so much easier for me (from a financial perspective). If some decide to donate more, it makes it even easier.
Think of it this way, a soda at Yankee Stadium costs $3 - or, at least that's what it was in 2005. Would you be willing to treat WasWatching.com to a soda for the 2006 season? If so, then you'd probably be willing to treat WasWatching.com to a $3 donation for 2006, right?
If everyone who reads WasWatching.com on a regular basis made a one-time $3 donation to the blog, say, between now and the end of Spring Training, I can guarantee you that you will not see an ad on this site over the next 12 months.
And, thanks to PayPal, making a donation is easy - just click on the button below and follow the steps. It's also safe.
OK, I'll stop the pitch now. Thanks for reading this over and please consider making a donation - everything helps.

Done... I think a Soda is worth not having ads in this site that I visit daily. Thanks and Keep up the good work. I hope everyone else contributes and keeps this site ad clean.
Thanks RMD. About a half-dozen have come in so far - and thanks to all of you!
I fear that I will need more than that to hold off on the ads. We'll give it some more time to see if anyone else wants to throw something in the hat while it's being passed around.

I've enjoyed this sight immensely. You do a great job of compiling pertinent Yankee coverage and your comments are generally insightful. Thanks.

Appreciate that you just about always have a daily entry in your blog unlike many others who let it lapse for days and even weeks.
Don't always agree with you but find you to be fair with interesting views. Thanks and good luck with the donations, hope mine helps!
