What About Me?
From the Daily News:
Some intriguing drizzle falling from the Yankees Entertainment & Sports Network.
Well-planted pinstripers say if YES execs decline to pick up their option on reporter Kimberly Jones' contract there is a very Yankeecentric replacement, Christa Robinson, waiting in the wings.
You may have already followed Robinson's exploits on YES' "Ultimate Road Trip" reality series. Before becoming a member of the "URT" cast, Robinson, 24, worked at YES.
Robinson grew up in Seattle. At the age of 9, according to her bio, she visited New York and knew right then the city, and the Yankees, were in her future.
Considering the way things have worked out so far for Robinson, she might want to consider playing the lottery on a regular basis.
I guess if they would be willing to give it to someone who looked like me, they'd just give it to Bald Vinny instead.

I'm all for Christa. At least she's attractive. There's something off-putting about Kim Jones, and I'm just not sure what it is.

Christa, YES (pun definitely intended). Something about Kim Jones isn't working. The players and coaches don't seem to like her, and of course I wouldn't know why, but would not be surprised to hear that she has an attitude they don't take to very well. Christa is sweet, she's a little giddy and silly, and we know she loves the ballclub. Give her a shot. Real people work nicely with baseball...that's why it's a game for the people. The new girl on roadtrippers, Maria, is also very likeable, however, she has an annoying yenta voice and would not be a good commentator for anything beyond her stint on URT. Julio seems to be the best suited for further work with YES. KJ would be all right, but needs to work on that accent just a bit. The other chick just tries too hard. She needs to relax. Frankly, I liked the original bunch better all in all. The guys were very interesting people with strange little bents to them, and Christa in particular was just wonderful. Oddly, Dave, not the most interesting, was the most engaging, and it all worked very well. I'm enjoying the new bunch but just not as much as the original 4. Kim's gotta go.
