Nick Johnson

Will Nick Johnson become the George McQuinn of his time?

I guess we'll know in about 10 years. I still think he has a better chance to be the next Hal Morris.

He'll be a little better than Hal Morris. Johnson put up better number in the minors. Definately has more power than Morris. Johnson's OPS @ AA Norwich was ridiculous.

I wish Johnson was able to stay healthy.

He could only wish, Steve. McQuinn finished up an All-Star with the Yankees in 47 and 48, hanging it up at the age of 38. I figure Nick wants to return a little sooner than that. With his uncle coaching at 3rd, the thought of the Yankees re-acquiring him aren't preposterous. And with the uncertainty of the Nats' front office, he might be had relatively cheaply. I'd rather have him than re-treading John Olerud.

Man, how'd you like to be a firstbaseman in the Yankees' system with Gehrig playing. You'd be lucky to get half a game here and there.
Johnson as a backup to Giambi doesn't sound bad.

I could go for a Giambi - Johnson rotation at 1b & DH.
