The State of WasWatching.com

Tomorrow, WasWatching.com hits its 5-month anny.

Where has the time gone? In any event, it's been fun.

I think that many still enjoy reading what's posted here. To date, the hits per day average for September is slightly down from the average for August (~2600 vs. ~2900). But, that could be due to a couple of days this month where no posts were made (when I was in Cooperstown) and, perhaps, less Red Sox fans reading the blog (as there's been less Yankees fan suffering these days).

Nonetheless, it would be great to hear from those who visit here. What do you like about WasWatching.com? What doesn't float your boat? What would you like to see more? Less? That sorta thing. Comments are welcomed and appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I think you're doing a fine job.

More of? Yankee wins. And cute chicks.
Less of? Red Sox and Indians wins.
Seriously, Steve, I like the blog as is. But don't be afraid to experiment (and no, I don't have any ideas.)

love the site, keep up the good work!

I read your blog daily for various reasons. The main reasons are your insights into the value of players based on their stats and your opinions on how players play the games as well as your perception of "Big Stein's" comments and views.

I have one selfish reason I read it... Luck. Yes, luck! I have found that if I read all of your posts prior to the start of the that day's Yankee game then they win. If I don't read them they lose. If I had forgotten to read them and then remember to read them early in the game (particularly when the Yanks are behind but close in a game) they usually win. I know, it's odd, but it has worked all season.

All in all, I really do enjoy reading your posts very much!

LOL Ed!
Thanks too, others, for this feedback.
Keep it coming guys!

This is a terrific blog. Content is interesting, well-written, and concise. Plus it's always nice to know there are other 40-something baseball-obsessed types out there.

Keep up the good work.

Can't think of anything I'd change. I wish the page would load a touch quicker, after I hit the "post" button, but I can live with that. (:

Congratulations!

Thanks guys!
Anyone else? The more the merrier. Don't be shy. Any and all comments appreciated.

How about a blogroll of other Yankees blogs you read? :D

Posted by: Patrick at September 19, 2005 04:34 PM

LOL - How did I know!

I've thought about it. But, I hate messing with code and the like that would be required - and the update to that as URLs change. (BTW, have you check all your links lately?) *wink*

Good suggestion 'tho. What I might do, at the end of the year, is an entry on blogs that I read, and then make a cat for that - so, it would sit on the right of the main site. That might work.

Yeah, I know about The Midnight Hour. But, I like Steve (Bonner) and the blog has come and gone before. So, I was holding out hope that it would come back. I'll remove it at some point if it doesn't come back.

I didn't imagine that you read so many (there aren't all that many out there) that it would be all that difficult to manage.

All I can say is keep up the great work. I read it daily and chime in when I have anything pointless to add!

If Michael Burke were still alive, he'd be reading WasWatching...he might not like some of it, but at least he'd be reading.

But then he'd leave fresh flowers on your desk Steve...and get his arse canned!

LOL Repoz!

Thanks again all! This is great feedback to hear.

Unfortunately, I will have limited access for the next few weeks, but don't take my limited visits as a vote of no confidence - just enjoy the lack of bittersness.

questions/comments :

I like the somewhat less formal format than the forums. The alliteration is good, too.

I dislike how discussions tend to die out as the new blog entries push them down. That's not something specific to ww, though, just a general observation.

Do you have plans for ww in the offseason?

What happened to Brad? I liked having a different perspective around, even if it was horribly, horribly wrong. ;)

Not really a Yankees fan, just started visiting it when you started it up to support it, as we are net friends. So I drop in less now that it is established.

It is weird reading a fan blog where everything is put under a microscope and obsessed over - i tend to take the long view more often than not

More good stuff - thanks!

Do I have plans for WW in the offseason? Yes, of course, there's going to be stuff here all year round. Yankees baseball is 24/7/365, no?
