The Royal Treatment
The Royals have now lost 18 games in a row. Next, they head to Oakland for three games - and then they go back to K.C. to play the Red Sox three times.
After that Boston series, the Royals come to New York to play the Yankees in a three-game set.
OK, show of hands - how many people fully expect the Royals to lose six more in a row, to run their losing streak to 24 games, and then win that first game against the Yankees at the Stadium on August 26th?

Buddy Bell might not make to the Yankees series...his press quotes recently have been dire....

Which is amazing, because, two months ago, people were raving about the job he was doing: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/columns/story?columnist=stark_jayson&id=2091746

For the Royals and Bell, it's a typical case of blaming the manager for a lousy team. What could he do? I'm surprised Jason Stark actually fell for that.

I'd like to see the Yankees trade fo Zack Greineke in the off-season. Bad year on a bad team, a pitcher with lots of upside. Kind of trade the Yankees used to make.
Who knows who the Yanks GM will be though, probably a GS stooge.

Funny, just last night I was thinking "We could really use a Bonds for Rivers and Figgy" trade this winter.

I expect the Royals to win the next game they play.

If Sheffield has value I'd trade him in the off-season. I know, he's hitting around .400 w/RISP. But I never liked the guy and feel he may be a cancer on the team.

You can forget that, Don. The guy has already killed any chance the Yanks had to move him, remember?
"If I'm traded, I won't be happy, and if I'm not happy, the team that gets me won't be happy"
The yanks would love to rid him, but guess what, it aint happening.

Yanks would be stupid to get rid of Sheffield...
