Another way that I can tell that WasWatching.com is becoming popular is by the amount of SPAM comments that are being made these days. I must have deleted about 40 of them this AM - and banned about a half-dozen IPs.

It's a pretty wide range of SPAM - home equity loans info, weight loss pills, cheap viagra, etc. But, by far, the two most popular types of SPAM comments that I receive are for on-line casinos and for Texas Hold'em sites.

So, I thought, if you can't beat 'em..........here goes:

As of this morning, the Yankees are 4 games out of first (behind Boston) and 1 game back in the loss column for the Wildcard (behind Oakland). There are 43 games left.

Will the Yankees draw out and go on a rush - or - is this season just a bad beat?

Place your bets.

if Damon gets carded for steroids, all bets are off. otherwise, it's more likely the Yankees will squeak in as a WC but lose in the first round (but only after squandering a 2-0 lead, natch). arriverderci, Giuseppe!

Now that's funny. The guy has put up nearly the same numbers for about four years, and suddenly, he's on steroids? His homerun total is way down, and he's smaller than last year - what type of steroids is he on? Maybe it's the kind the Kenyan distance runners take, or perhaps the cyclists over in Europe.
Please, let's try to keep the rampant steroid accusations to those players that have already been caught. You know, like the two guys on the Yankees. Because, unlike Yankee fans, if a Red Sox player were to be caught, I'd throw every World Series shirt, hat, ect.. right in the trash, not cheer the guy every time he comes to the plate ala Giambi and Sheffield.

I think they will eventually make it, but am not sure how far they will get. Will they go past the first round against the White Sox. This weekend should be an indication of that. I say they will find that itch, I hope is not too late when they do.

You've been deleting those? Dang it, I need a new mortgage, my hair is falling out, I can't afford to get viagra at full price, my weight has been getting dangerously high while my porn supply is running dangerously low, my Mexican flaxseed prescriptions are about to expire, my psychic astrologer just gave me new lucky numbers for online keno, and now I've got no links to my suppliers!

Brad, Red Sox fans can do no wrong and are the ultimate baseball fans. Yankee fans are brain-dead a-holes who keep a stash of batteries in their pockets to throw at opposing players. We all know this already. But thanks for reminding us how much we suck!

What I think JohnnyC was referring to were the rampant rumors propagated not only by well-known Red Sox fan websites (SoSH), but also (at least behind the scenes) by the media (e.g, ESPN). You can't judge a juicer by his outward appearance. Look at Raffy, I wouldn't say he's a huge guy. Damon is at least as big as him. And saying his numbers for the past 4 years are the same is laughable as a steroid defense. Did the "steroid era" start this year or last? Not by any account. 4 years ago would not be out of line as a starting point for steroid use. And the guy came from that hot bed of designer steroids, the Bay Area.

With that said, I would be very surprised if the Damon rumors were true, and very disappointed if the Clemens rumors were true.

And, didn't Damon claim in March 2004, when asked about the 15 pounds that he added over the winter, "I barely touched the weights, did a couple of pushups here and there,” he said. with a grin. “I’m gaining weight the right way. I’m drinking beer."

Hmmmm.......

I never read his book, "Idiot" or anything but when his ex-wife responded to it didn't she mention that she had suspected him of taking steroids?

Granted, it was his EX-wife.

At least you said it Marcus, not me. I simply saying that Raffy was also jacking HR's this year at an alarming rate - where are Johnny's? Please keep the insults, even about yourself, to yourself. If proven wrong, ill say I'm sorry, but until that time, I would expect the same for all those jumping off the bridge with anticipation that it may be one of the Red Sox. Man, wouldn't that really loosen the noose that is Jason Giambi and Gary Sheffield?
It's a rumor...when was the last time one of these steroid rumors came true? Oh yeah....GIAMBI!

I thought Raffy was the last one?

Michael Kay also reported yesterday that a guy from MLB's marketing called the show and said that the rumor of two "big-name stars" is completely false. We'll see, but I don't necessarily believe it.
