Pavano's Hurting
From an AP report:
Carl Pavano will not start for the New York Yankees on Sunday at Detroit because the right-hander has a sore shoulder.
"I think skipping a start is the best way to go right now," Pavano said Saturday night. "It's been progressive, after my last start the soreness was a little different."
Yankees manager Joe Torre had to shuffle his rotation before the three-game series against the Tigers, and was forced to again in the middle of it.Chien-Ming Wang will start Sunday in Pavano's place, Tanyon Sturtze will follow Monday at home against Baltimore, then Randy Johnson will pitch on short rest.
The pitching staff this year is turning into a full-blown bad dream. It's the Nightmare on 161st Street.
