ESPN Page2: Yanks 2 Of 10 Most Overpaid
This list is just out.
No shocker on Brown.
And, Bernie making the list is telling. Related, I found it interesting that Kaat said in the post-game last night that a CF was the Yankees biggest need on the trade front - even given the pitching woes.

Kaat has never explicitly stated this...because I believe he thinks of Stottlemyre as a friend...but the reason for his placing pitching concerns behind the CF issue is that he believes the team can and should get more out of the pitching they have right now, injuries notwithstanding. The offense scores runs, you have two ace-type starters, a trio of good to great late-inning relievers, and the market for topflight pitching is just too pricey. What they can upgrade is their outfield defense...and relatively cheaply. Now if only Torre and Mel would heed Kaat's words and start managing the pitching staff with a modicum of intelligence.

Did I really just see Mike Mussina declared as an ace? Please review Tom Gordon's post season statistics before declaring him a great late innning reliever (or his stats lateley, for that matter).
