Was that April, or October 17, 2004? Seriously, Cash should know that luck is the residue of design.

I'm sure he doesn't think this is just bad luck...he has to be nice to the media or they may write a sotry about how he, Gene Michael and Billy Connors were involved in a steel-cage death match in Monument Park on 5/24 (story just being reported today). The match was guest referreed by the ghost of Billy Martin.

Of course, it would be refreshing to hear a GM say "we thought he could help us, but, we were wrong."

Steve- true- but Quantrill was good last year, and Stanton historically has been good. Plus- he did the right thing not bashing them since they are looking for work. If I was "designated for assingment" (note- not fired)...I would hope my former boss would not publicly disgrace my performance.

If Q's and Stanton's ERAs this season didn't publicly disgrace their performance, then nothing that Cashman could say would.
