With this season, that's going, so terribly wrong,

At this point, the only thing left that might possibly work is to throw the YES' Ultimate Road Trippers into the mouth of a live volcano and see what that brings.

Seven teams in the AL have a better record.
Maybe it's time again to start considering a message to the team?
I hear that Wally Backman still wants a job. We know that Big Stein loves former-Mets reclamation projects. Anything is possible....

The Yankees have been shut down by some of the most mediocre and below-average pitchers in all of baseball this year.
It's mind-boggling.

The worst part of last night's game is when the Royals' announcer says: "They found this guy in A ball, and got him via rule 5 draft, and he's 4 hit the Yankees so far."
They may have to win 8 of the next 10.

I really did have high hopes for a sweep in this series. after reeling off 10 straight against SEA and OAK I figured they could at least beat up on the AL weaklings.

if you think about it- the Yankees historically have done very poorly agasint unknown pitchers. Not that I can give many examples- but I just recall always hearing that during broadcasts.
We would do better facing Pedro every night.

I agree, Phil - facing a Pedro-type pitcher, the Yanks take pitches. When they face these "who dat" AA guys - or when they are pressing badly (see ALCS game 5) - they just hack away.

Or, they get take happy and watch 3rd strike after 3rd strike fly by - Jeter, Bernie, Posada and Giambi, more than others.

Since the broken nose early in the 2004 season, Posada has been mostly useless. Matsui doesn't seem able to handle the pressure of playing without a contract after this season. And A-Fraud's defense at 3rd has been awful.
Jeter has always struck out too many times for his low power figures, now fourth all time on the Yankee list in just his tenth season. And Posada's K's are frightening for his career AB's and so-so production.
