May 21st @ The Mets
I got nothing.
Sorry.
But, when you're Brazilian waxed by Mr. Anna Benson in public, during broad daylight, that just leaves me with a loss of freakin' words.
I'm going to do exactly what the Yankees did today - and mail this one in.
In closing, I remain, in disrespect of the Mets who behave like Little Leaguers when they're winning, yours truly,
The laconic commenting Yankeeland zealot
Consider this entry an open mike for anyone who wants to chime in......

» Jeter to A-Rod: "I Told You." from YanksBlog.com
Steve Lombardi mentioned the following in his recap or last night's game:
I did not see the post-game on YES - so, I have no idea if this was confirmed, but, on the replay of the Matsui HR in... [Read More]

» The Curse of "Paint It Black" from YanksBlog.com
Steve Lombardi has a theory.
Because of The Rolling Stones concert at Fenway, they had to bring in 40,000 square feet of sod from... New Jersey. Which also happens to be the birthplace of one... [Read More]

» No Player Has Ever Hit 3,000 Hits with the Yankees from YanksBlog.com
Steve Lombardi compares the similiarities in hit counts between Derek Jeter and Pete Rose. They're very close - of course, as he notes and I agree, I don't really see Jeter playing until he is 45.... [Read More]

Steve Lombardi reminded me of a post I made nearly a couple weeks ago.
Anyway, when Mike Vento got into the game, he became player number 51 and set the record. [Read More]

» Joe Torre from YanksBlog.com
Steve Lombardi has a good post on Joe Torre this year.
This Yankees team loves and respects Torre - and he feels the same way about them. Yes, Joe makes mistakes with line-ups, pitching choices... [Read More]

Well, the Yanks lost. I went to the MetroStars game today and they blew a lead late in the game (as well as 50 bazillion chances to score early on). But beforehand we went to the Big M and I put $5 on Afleet Alex, so you know, I got that going for me.
I just hope I'm not putting a whammy on Johnson like I did with Gordon in my fantasy league.

Glad you got something today!
Unit, I dunno? One game, a record for no Ks. Another game, almost ties his career record for hits allowed. Why now? Also, something he said in the press conference struck me - - when asked about the Koo hit.........he said something like "I allowed the pitcher to hit a double, or whatever it was........"
Think he's had enough (already) of watching Bernie turnaround and just start jogging after anything hit over his head?

I've had my fill of A-Fraud at third. Defense on this Yankee team is a joke.

FWIW, I too can think of more plays where he muffed or missed than he made a great one this year.

I'm getting to the point where I think it's okay to start being concerned about RJ. We haven't seen a truly dominant RJ-esque performance yet and we're more than a quarter of the way through the season.

Can he be another case of a player that looked great elsewhere and when he comes here the warts show?
Posted by: Steve Lombardi at May 23, 2005 11:03 AM
I definitely think it's possible. Hits are getting sprayed all over the place and his HR's allowed are way up (Even with the NL to AL switch).
